The best 7 Days Kenya and Tanzania Fly-in Migration Safari 2025
Duration
Overview
Take a fly-in migration safari in Kenya and Tanzania, visiting two renowned East African safari sites. Given the time of year, you may see the migration in one or both sites, which are ideal for viewing a famous river crossing. Driving between the Masai Mara and the Serengeti is long and tiring, providing little opportunity for animal watching. Flying in is the best way to make the most of your time in these amazing places.

Following breakfast, you’ll be taken to the domestic airport for a small plane flight to Masai Mara. Upon arrival in the Masai Mara, a representative will greet you and guide you to your safari camp, where you will spend the following three nights. Your lodging, Basecamp Masai Mara, is a modest camp set along the Talek River in lush bush, providing many opportunities to see the numerous wildlife and the occasional monkey. Safari expeditions depart from here for the renowned Masai Mara National Reserve, which is recognized for its spectacular wildlife sightings despite being one of the busiest areas of the Mara.Accommodation – Base Camp Masai Mara Camp

Following breakfast, we will go on a full-day game drive with a packed lunch provided. The park is well-known for its black-maned lions and diverse resident species, and it’s one of the few areas where you may see the Big Five on your morning game drive. Several cheetahs in the reserve have become so accustomed to automobiles that they frequently seek shelter beneath them and occasionally climb onto the roofs to get a better view of prospective prey. Bird enthusiasts will be pleased to learn that nearly 500 species have been documented here, such as 16 species of eagles, numerous hawks and falcons, 6 species of vultures, 8 species of storks, 4 species of bustards (including the Kori bustard, the world’s heaviest flying bird), and 9 species of sunbirds.Accommodation – Base Camp Masai Mara Camp

Your two-night stay will be at Lemala Kuria Hills, a tented camp in the northern Serengeti. This Serengeti section attracts fewer visitors than others, yet it is known for spectacular year-round wildlife observations. Furthermore, there is a chance to see the Great Migration between July and September, and potentially in November as well.Accommodation – Lemala Kuria Hills LodgeMeals – Full Board
As you ascend the mountainside, the enormous Serengeti spreads before you, stretching as far as the eye can see. The Serengeti, which means “endless plains” in Kiswahili, covers 6,900 square miles (18,000 square kilometers) and is home to more than two million large mammals, including over a million wildebeest, hundreds of thousands of plains zebras, and Thomson’s gazelles. The amount of prey roaming around the park attracts large predators like lions, cheetahs, and hyenas. This complex habitat is home to a variety of smaller animals, including rock hyraxes, bat-eared foxes, mongooses, honey badgers, jackals, monkeys, baboons, and African hares, as well as almost 500 bird species.En route to the campground, you will have an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight accommodations will be in a public campsite or private tented camp/lodge.Accommodation – Lemala Kuria Hills Lodge
