AFCON 2-Day Safari: The Complete Tanzania and Kenya Experience (2027)

AFCON 2-Day Safari
AFCON 2-Day Safari
This two-day package is designed for football fans who want to combine AFCON 2027 with a short wildlife experience in East Africa. It brings together the tournament atmosphere in Kenya and the opportunity to see Tanzania’s wildlife, making it an option for travellers with very limited time.

With just two days available, the match, flights and safari must be arranged carefully. A full match experience in one country and a proper game drive in another can be difficult to fit into such a short period. The following itinerary is therefore a practical outline that must be matched to the confirmed AFCON fixtures and available flights.

Duration: 2 days / 1 night Countries: Kenya and Tanzania Main experiences: AFCON football and a Tanzania wildlife safari Proposed safari destination: Tarangire National Park Travel style: Very fast-paced, with limited time for transfers and wildlife viewing

Day 1: AFCON match experience in Kenya

Arrive in Nairobi and transfer to your hotel, or head to the stadium if your arrival time allows. The day’s main activity is attending your selected AFCON match.

The match will depend on the confirmed tournament schedule, venue and ticket availability. Allow enough time for traffic, stadium security and entry procedures. If your flight arrives too late for the match, the itinerary will need to be adjusted.

After the game, return to your hotel and rest. If you plan to travel to Tanzania that evening, this must be arranged around the match finish time and an available flight. Do not assume a late match will leave enough time for an international connection.

Overnight: Nairobi, Kenya, if travelling to Tanzania the next morning.

Meals: Depending on the accommodation package.

Day 2: Tanzania safari and departure

Les 5 plus beaux parcs nationaux à explorer en Tanzanie

If you have travelled to Tanzania the previous evening, start early and meet your safari guide for the journey to Tarangire National Park. The drive from Kilimanjaro International Airport takes several hours, so the available time for wildlife viewing will depend on your arrival and departure flights.

During the game drive, look for elephants, giraffes, zebras, antelope and other wildlife. Tarangire is particularly known for its elephants and baobab trees, with wildlife viewing varying according to the season.

After the safari, return to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward flight, provided there is enough time for the road transfer and airport check-in.

Important: If you need to attend a match in Kenya on Day 1 and only fly to Tanzania on Day 2, a meaningful Tarangire safari may not fit comfortably into the schedule. In that case, a football-focused two-day trip or an extra night in Tanzania would be more practical.

AFCON 2-Day Safari Important information

AFCON 2027 is scheduled for 19 June to 17 July 2027, and will be co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. CAF has confirmed the tournament dates, but the host country for the opening match and final, along with the complete match schedule and venue assignments, should be checked before finalising travel.

For this two-day package, the match location and flight timings are the most important factors. Confirm the match first, then organize flights, accommodation and safari transport around it.

This package is best treated as a short AFCON visit with an optional Tanzania safari, rather than a guaranteed full safari in two days. If wildlife viewing is a priority, extending the trip to three days will allow a more realistic schedule and less time spent rushing between airports and the national park.
