This group safari is designed for travelers who want to experience Tanzania’s top national parks at an affordable price, without compromising on the adventure. Available all year round, this joining safari covers Tarangire, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro Crater — giving you the chance to spot the Big Five, watch the Great Migration (seasonal), and explore breathtaking landscapes in the company of like-minded travelers.

It's time to begin your safari. Welcome to Tanzania! After we greet you and provide you with the trip briefing, we'll take you out to help you discover why so many people think Tanzania is the best place in Africa to go on safari. Explore one of Tanzania’s most rewarding national parks, a land of big baobab trees, big elephants and big cats. No wonder this ends up being the favorite park in Tanzania for many visitors. Sightings of wildebeest, giraffes, hippos, buffaloes, baboons, vervet monkeys and zebras are also almost guaranteed. Lions are plentiful here – Tarangire is home to one of Tanzania’s healthiest lion populations. While you’ll have to work a little harder to see a cheetah or leopard, it will only enhance your excitement when you do. You can also look forward to classic safari scenery – savannah plains, river woodlands and rocky hills.
In the heart of Mto wa Mbu, a fascinating northern Tanzanian town close to the entrance of Lake Manyara National Park, Fig Tree Lodge & Camp is a good base for both. There's a swimming pool to go with the onsite bar and restaurant, while the simple rooms have mosquito nets. There's also a camping area. Local life begins right outside the lodge's front door.

There's nowhere in Tanzania where you have a better chance of seeing big cats than in the Central Serengeti. You'll also see lots of other animals as you explore the savannah grasslands and silhouetted acacia trees with us. This is the Serengeti's heartland and it is the most popular area of the park, but with very good reason.
You couldn't be in a more central position of the Serengeti than you will be at Nyani Campsite. It's spread out across the grass in the central Seronera area of the park. There's always lots of wildlife nearby (including sometimes inside the camp itself, which certainly sharpens the senses when you need to go to the toilet at night). Nyani has communal bathrooms and a shared kitchen

You're going to be staying with us at simba A campsite. It's an excellent base for getting to know the region and getting ready for what comes next.

You’ll learn why magical Ngorongoro is unlike anywhere else in Africa. Cloud forests encircle the crater rim, and the view out across the caldera of this former volcano – quite apart from the altitude – will leave you gasping for air. Your drive down a steep trail carries you onto the crater floor where a unique wildlife offering is added to the sheer beauty of the experience. You’ll share the sunken ecosystem of the crater floor with hyenas, lions, elephants, black rhinos and hippos. An ecosystem that has formed in the crater in the millennia since the volcano wrought its terrible fury upon the land. It could just be one of your best safari days ever.
Sleep another night in Fig Tree Lodge & Camp on your way through Mto wa Mbu.

You're going to love Lake Manyara National Park because it promises experiences you just can't get elsewhere. For example, this is one of the most compact parks in Tanzania's north: the park consists of a narrow strip of forest shadowed by vast Lake Manyara on one side and the cliffs of the Rift Valley escarpment on the other. The park is known for its large elephant and baboon populations, and part of the excitement of visiting here is never quite knowing when you're going to come face-to-face with an elephant. And then there are the tree-climbing lions for which the park is famous: this is one of very few places in Africa where lions routinely climb (and spend much of their time up in) trees. It's time to bring your safari to a close. Until we see you again, we have no doubt that we will be sending you home with a bag full of wonderful safari memories.
